About About The Onepoint Report…

Dear Readers,

the summer is over, the days are getting colder and we are heading on to the most busy time of the year (at least for the IT industry). And like in the previous years, we will release a new minor version in mid Q4. This time, the focus will be on formal project management and controlling with a number of additional improvements in nearly all areas of Onepoint Project.

If you do not want to wait until November to get your hands onto the new version we invite you to join us at one of the following two events - both taking place next week in Vienna and Berlin respectively - in order to see a preview version of Release 9.1 "live":

We are also very happy that we could further expand our partner network internationally. Please join us in welcoming our new solution partners ProjectAid (Dubai) and iZeno (Singapore). With this, we can now also support customers in the Gulf region as well as in Asia much more effectively than in the past.

There is also one more thing: As some of you have already noticed, my last name changed to "Aquila". This is due to my recent marriage to my fiance Ulrike where we decided that we will use her name, simply because it is indeed a very nice name. We are doing our best in order that this change will not cause too much confusion.

With that, I hope to see many of you next week in Vienna and wish you a busy and profitable fourth quarter!

Best regards,

Gerald Aquila (Mesaric), CEO

Onepoint Project 9 Update 2/2a

Onepoint Project 9 Update 2 was delivered about two weeks ago and included some bug fixes, a number of smaller usability improvements and even some new functionality such as a resource allocation view. Unfortunately, our team missed a few annoying bugs in this update (mainly related to the Report Wizard). Therefore, we decided to deliver a follow-up update called Onepoint Project 9 Update 2a which was shipped to all customers with a valid support contract yesterday.

If you did not yet install Update 2 you should definitely go for Onepoint Project 9 Update 2a right away. If you already installed Update 2 we suggest you still install Update 2a - especially, if you are using the Report Wizard a lot. We are sorry about the additional work we may have caused the one or the other of your system administrators. We have already taken measures in our QA department in order to improve the testing process for the Report Wizard for future releases.

The major changes regarding the Report Wizard from Update 2 to Update 2a are as follows:

  • User interface input parameters are again working properly
  • A number of layout problems for the PDF report output have been resolved
  • Reports in the Letter landscape mode are now laid out correctly
  • You can use the same field for multiple grouping, sorting and querying operations
Please note that there are no critical problems in Update 2, so there is no need to update to Update 2a right away if you do not experience problems in the areas mentioned above.
