Onepoint Previews Advanced Controlling Functionality at Leading PM-Events

Onepoint shows beta version of new Controlling Cycle Option at pma focus (Vienna/Austria) and GPM's PM Forum event (Berlin/Germany)

Onepoint Software, the leading provider of easy-to-use enterprise project and portfolio management (PPM) software in Europe has introduced a new concept for effectively controlling the entire project lifecycle throughout the enterprise. The new product is the result of a close cooperation with key customers from different industries, once more delivering on Onepoint's major design objectives simplicity and usability. A beta version of the new Controlling Cycle Option will be previewed at the two major project management events in Central Europe in October (pma focus and PM Forum taking both place from October 14 to 15).

The new optional project controlling module will introduce comprehensive formal project management to Onepoint Project without adding the level of complexity that normally goes with it. Major design goals were simplicity and usability, criteria that Onepoint is already renowned for in the industry. The so-called "Controlling Sheet" will be the linchpin of Onepoint's project controlling cycle. It will let project managers record traffic-light-based ratings for quality, dates, resources and costs together with explanations and other project progress information such as a status prognosis on a weekly or monthly basis. Additional project metadata including comprehensive project team specifications and extensive, but clear printable standard reports will round up the new offering.

Onepoint Project is an open source commercial project leadership software that is primarily designed for medium-sized project-driven organizations. As a European software company with headquarters in Graz, Austria, Onepoint supports six languages namely English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Russian. Onepoint Project is available in several "editions" from a single-user open source edition ("Basic Edition") to an enterprise-grade multi-user version ("Enterprise Edition"). In addition, Onepoint has also introduced a SaaS offering earlier this year: "Onepoint Project On Demand" is hosted by IBM in their new datacenter near Frankfurt.

Onepoint will preview a beta version of the new Controlling Cycle Option at the two most important project management events in central Europe both taking place from October 14 to 15: pma focus 2009 held in Vienna (http://www.p-m-a.at/focus) and GPM's PM Forum 2009 event in Berlin (http://www.pm-forum.de).Visitors will be able to see how easy and straightforward integrated project controlling can be.
